Hi all,

I have just taken delivery of a new youngster and need help with a name! He is a very handsome grey with real tickets on himself, he's a 16 hh Irish sport horse. I'm at at loss for both a stable name and something to go on his papers! all suggestions welcome!

Thanks!

I'll just throw a random one in here.....

Stuart

Stuart Little

Well he's grey and relatively small but it's a name with character and something that could raise a few smiles over the tannoy system.

Endeavour for his posh name and Edward for his stable name :)
Or Rupert?
Have a look at his sire and dam names they may help you decide :)

Grey horses I've known in the past.

Messenger - Messy (very apt as he got very dirty)
Greystone - Stoney
Skydiver - Sky
Churchill - whinney
Cool mint - Polo
Randolph - Randy

hope this helps

Enbarr of the Flowing Mane - Passport name (Irish mythical horse that could travel over water as easily as land)
Promise he'll get me over this - Passport name / Promise - Stable name
Just a couple of random ones for you!! :)

I really like Endeavour - great name. What about Meath, Mayo, Antrim, Balbriggan? It would help to know either his breeding (if you have it) or the area you got him from.

Just a couple of random ones:
Silent Windsong / Sonny
Everlasting Mist / Mist
Facade / Danny?
Silver Song / Silver
Storm In The Wind / Storm

Just a few, hope they help :)

How about naming him after a singer you like, or a character from a book/story, or a place you've enjoyed a holiday?
I went on a riding holiday where all the homebred horses were named after local mountains/rivers etc - nice idea.
