I'm so excited!!

My new horse passed the vetting today, I shall probably be picking her up Monday!!!

She's a bay 15.3hh 5yo British sports horse mare. She's been at a pros yard for about a year so she's got all the basics down to a T, she just beginning to jump under saddle now but has the heart and courage of a lion.

I can't wait to get her home and get to know her properly, she's an absolute sweetheart from everything that I've seen/heard already.

A massive thanks goes to _GG_ without whom I never would have found her!

Had I known the lovely people I had gifted Molly to would be open to selling her, I'd have suggested her for Dusty85 months ago...but Dusty met one of my friends at the December HHO meet and they got chatting and my friend kindly called me and asked how I would feel about Dusty viewing Molly a couple of weeks back. I was absolutely thrilled at the prospect of her getting such a wonderful home and so we had a fabulous afternoon at my friends yard and as much as I knew how amazing Molly is, I was so excited for Dusty to see her.

It's a daunting prospect getting on a new horse when you're not riding regularly, but I have to say, Dusty rode her perfectly and both of my friends commented on how well she rides!!!

Molly had loose jumped 3 times and this was her second time jumping under saddle and let's just say, Dusty's "heart and courage of a Lion" comment was very true. She exceeded all expectations and was confidently giving PLENTY of space over an upright and parallel at 95cm.

I have gushed about Molly enough on this forum over the past two years and I honestly could not think of a better person for her to go to.

Dusty85...I'm just thrilled for you...but even more thrilled for Molly Moo who will be so happy to have you as her new mum! :)

If you want photo's, I have some great still from the jumping...Molly does NOT like to touch poles, lol ;)

Awww shucks _GG_!

I can't wait to get going with her. I will take and post loads of pics when she arrives

Feel free to post pics if you want, I'm at work so got patchy signal.

She's a giant Labrador in a horses body and loves resting her head on you

Sorry, some of the last ones were stills from video's.

I'm a very proud former mum and really think Dusty is going to have an amazing time with her. :) xx

She's one of those horses you can lie down with in the stable or field and not worry about her doing anything silly. I have no doubt at all that Dusty has just found her new very best friend and Molly will give all of herself to you Dusty...I promise you that. You'll also laugh at her a lot...she's a bit daft!

I'm going to do my level best to step back from this thread now...it's Dusty's moment with her new horse...just to say again though, I could not be happier for both of you and you have a guaranteed photgrapher/videographer/fan club any time you need :) xxx

Thanks everyone.....I am indeed a girl! :)

Im hopefully going to be picking her up on Monday. Ill be keeping her with a good friend of mine's mare on her farm in the next village over, 5 mins from me. will be lovely having her so close. I want to make sure my friend is around when I pick her up so we can both be on hand to introduce the mares to one another.

First job will be to get the saddler out, Ive got an adjustable gullet saddle to start with, hopefully that will get us started then Ill look at replacing it in a few months.

I think I'll spend a couple of months getting to know her and I'll probably go back to the Pros for some lessons on her, especially for jumping as she's only just started (although clearly has talent and loves it) I want to make sure she continues to enjoy it and improve.

Id like to get out and about to a few local dressage competitions by the end of march/April, then depending on how the jumping is going also some clear round/mini rounds, just to get her out and used to the 'show' environment.
Once she's fairly happy with jumping Ill try and take her XC schooling (which with her courage I'm hoping she'll take to easily). By the end of the summer Id love to take her to a baby/mini ODE but we'll see. Possibly cubbing in sept/oct. Then hopefully some JAS/Jump training over the winter with continued bits of XC schooling then ready for proper BE next spring!

well.....thats the plan anyway :)

Thank you everyone for your kind words and best wishes.

I can't wait to bore you all with updates and competition reports! I'll try and make sure there are lots of photos to make it bearable!
