got my new horse...anyway top and bottom of it he was led down in stable yesterday and saddler came to fit the saddle- anyway he got up and was very stiff and sore in front - not lame just very stiff, first thought was laminitis, was much better once walked out...but he seems very sore/tight in his neck/shoulder - could this cause this soreness/stiffness in front? who do I need to call out? chiro/pysio/bowen/mctimoney or what?? x

First call always to the vet. The chiro would need a vets OK to treat anyway.

Can you ask the people you bought him off if this has happened before?

Maybe a touch of arthritis? Did he have a problem loading and been pushed and pulled to get him into a trailer?

Just thinking of ideas here.

Yeah, could definitely cause him to be stiff in front. How old is he, out of interest?

Technically your first point of call should be the vet (you must at least phone them to seek their permission for an "alternative professional" to treat your horse)

After this I'd suggest the physio although have only had experience of chiropractors and physiotherapists. You might need to get him a course of treatment if he's had a badly fitting saddle for some time, as it will take time for him to build up the right muscles to support himself & therefore not be in pain.

Sorry, I haven't read many of your previous posts about this horse so can't be more helpful!

Whats he like today? improved or not or worse ? if he has improved then see what he's like tomorrow if he's worse your vet should be the first port of call surely? Im not against they use of phsyio /chiro etc but do they not need a vet referral?

Hi there

How long have you had him for? If he you have recently bought him maybe he jarred himself travelling to you or when he was turned out, as you know what they are like they get excited about new places. If he is ok today it probably sounds like he has just jarred himself.
