I thought I'd pop in and do a quick update on our new boy, who has been with us for 2 months now!

We've been having regular flatwork lessons and he has come on leaps and bounds (the polite way of saying I have actually learned to ride him, at least I am in the process of anyway!). He is a lovely, civil big horse and is just a pleasure to have around.

He has put on a nice amount of condition and is building topline nicely. His fitness and endurance has improved well too (he had been on his winter hols when we got him) and he seems to be enjoying life with us!

At the yard we've hacked, built courses etc and we have also recently taken 2 trips - one to the water treadmill and today we went to a local unaff dressage comp. I haven't competed for a few years so was thrilled with 64.81% in prelim and 65.21% in novice (my first ever novice test).

We now have our own transport, so hoping to get out jumping soon (coronavirus restrictions permitting!).

All in all he has been an absolute star, we are thrilled to have him. A few pics, why not!!!

Er .... whose horse?? :D:D I hope current circumstances don't stop you competing this season and I can still stalk you round the countryside. Who did you decide on for lessons?

Lol! I do the day to day stuff, OH will get into the fun stuff soon, he's just started a new job which is keeping him away quite a bit ?
Having lessons with Claire S at the moment, mostly me but OH also participating on occasion. Not got to the jump lessons just yet, but hoping to get to an xc clinic at start of April all being well! OH I mean, not me!!!

So happy you got a good one, proves they are out there! Hope you continue to have lots of fun with him, and keep lots of photos coming for us ?

Thank you! We were lucky to find this guy, if I could clone him I would. His breeder has really focused on giving him a good all-round education which has been brilliant. She seems to do that with all her horses. She actually has this guy's full brother too, so itll be interesting to see how he turns out.

The other nice thing about this one is that he loves a fuss and tolerates lots of kisses and hugs, the other 2 unfortunately do not stand for such nonsense ?
