After having to retire my old horse due to major sacro-illiac problems, I am looking for a new horse to event.
Just wondered if anyone new of any suitable candidates in the devon area...
young 4-8 ish, not bigger than 16.2, with the potential to atleast go novice. preferably a gelding!!

Proving hard to find epecially as I dont have bucketloads of money to play with!!!! Most I fancy are around £15000, cant afford that!!!

we have seen some about 6-7 grand. saw a very nice four year old for 6 but it failed the vet!! typical.
cant spend that much more as most of its my parents money.
Willing to travel into somerset past bristol, but not that much further.
Once again my mum dictates as she doesnt like travelling that far and complains about the petrol money

I'm told that Lucy Wiegersma has some nice youngsters, and I believe she's in Devon.

Could be pricey though as she's a 'name'!

go to http://www.jmsporthorses.co.uk/

He's based in Warwickshire, he vvv genuine and sells lovely horses! He doesn't have prices on his website but he's very good value for money, he's rather sell horses for a reasonable price and have a quick turnover than put silly price tags on them and not be able to sell them for months.

But he's sold horses to professional show jumpers and event riders, who come back to him, which says it all really

There was a lovely youngster by Kings Composer advertised in the Western Daily Press on Saturday.
If I were buyig a young event horse I would go to eiether the Langarth Stud in Monmouth and see if they have anything the right age, or I would go and see Jo Harris in St Briavels, who has some top home bred horses and doesn't ask silly prices.
Don't have either number I'm afraid, though could probably track them down if you were interested.

I'd contact the Wiegersmas, can let you have their number if you pm me.
horses further into Cornwall get cheaper, and you need to look in Fridays's Western Morning News. There are also some on ad trader, just because they aren't widely advertised doesn't mean they aren't much good, we bought two real bargains from an ad there.
If you see something within a reasonable distance of here (we are 20 miles past Exeter) I will go and take some pictures for you for just the petrol money.
May save you a wasted journey and I love horse hunting!
