new horse

He was born at Coolmore? Wonders never cease!

Makes sense when you think about it though.

He has a really honest head on him, I don't envy you the tidying though. The cob I have has a tail of Wire-pure curly wire. I have given up and just trim it when it gets too sh177y :redface3:

*does Jaws theme tune for Snooples as she approaches cob with mane comb*

Oh he has the wirest tail of all time! It took a load of mane and tail conditioner and two attempts, I had to have a break midway through, but I successfully de tangled the tail! No doubt when I head over to him now it will be back to its wiry self!

I used to detest cobs but now I have a 'sports cob' wouldn't change him for the world !

I don't envy you with all that work but when he's feeling well and he's schooled you might be shocked how fast you fall for him. Good luck with him, look forward to reading more about him as time goes on.

Aww I like him and it sounds like your first little potter about went well! Seems quite sensible to handle too, you're halfway there!

I think he will make a lovely 'sports cob' like horse.love92's picture! With a lot of weight off to get to that stage though, bless him!

Aww horselove he is lovely! Would love if this fella ended up looking like that!!
I rode him today by myself and he was great, stood for me to get on and went way up the hills behind the stables, they are quite steep so only 20 mins walking but he was fine and didnt put a foot wrong. He did have look at things but no reluctance to move or spooking.

I have a question though for all cob owners, Im using my own horses saddle pad on him, its a racing one so doenst attach to the saddle, iv never had any problems with it but today it slipped right back.
When I got off the girth probably could have gone up one more hole but is this something that happens with cobs esp fat ones as they are so round or was it just probably a loose girth combined with hills?

Any help much appreciated :p

I also used to have a 'sports cob'!! Check my avatar!! He was amazing and took me BE which I never thought I'd do.

The hair was annoying though. To event he had to be clipped all year round and his feathers were a pain to get off cos he used to dance about when the clippers came out.

Awesome honest boy though who beat all the 'proper' eventers at our yard!!

Aw I really like him. Defo more a sports cob type than a traddie. Sounds like he has been really good so far. You might find yourself falling for him....
