Bought myself a new horse, I was looking for an older one like my oldie that had to be pts in April and ended up with a 3 year old cob gelding, has been lunged/long rained/ rode then all work was stopped on him for four months.
He loaded instantly travelled well and unloaded no worries only had him a couple of days so lots for him to take in, have spent yesterday grooming him trying to bond with him, the Lady that sold him to me gave me everything with him all tack, lunge lines, head collars, grooming kit, rugs, buckets, bandages, girths all sizes, haynets and some odds and ends even down to a wheelie bin full of feed.
Will be taking things day by day I am nervous and excited by him and the work I have taken on at my age looking forward to it.

If it is any consolation, I spent 12months looking for a "been there, done it all" leg-at-each corner 15hand cob to poodle about on and accompany me into my dotage. What did I end up with? a coloured yearling, dad a trad cob, mum welsh section D, he is now 2 stands about 15.3/16, still growing of course, and built like a brick outhouse; but he has a fabulous temperament, is very keen to learn, and has brought me so much joy. The future is going to be very interesting (and ,I suspect, a bit scary!)
