Following the trauma of deciding to but CF down I decided that a new horse is the best cure .
I decided to look for a young ID who will one day be a understudy and then take over from Fatty as he ages .
I found a green 5 yo grey just under 16.2 he got a very calm nature he will need two years developing not show quality but a nice person .
I will play with him until he's ready for Mr GS .

Tiddleypom , fatty is almost human he's a scream.
The new one has never been in a 'home ' so he's characterless ATM
Ive just been to check them he's standing calmly not eating I am forming the opinion he's will be a 'blocked off ' horse who hides his emotions .
It's going to be fun bringing him out of his shell.

Has the new boy come over from Ireland recently by any chance? They treat them differently there, don't they. Not cruelly but they have them to do a job, whereas we have them as friends and companions as well.

He's been over since mid summer .
But he's gone breeder , dealer , dealer to me .
You are exactly right it's going to fun seeing who he turns into.
Fatty who is English produced was very cross and angry when he arrived with us seeing him develop and become the horse he is now has been very rewarding .

Well being in my fifties and childless I lack a grand child to teach me these technical things .
My nephew lives two hundred miles away and child kidnap for IT assistance is frowned upon in the UK .
But this one I must picture as he's not a thing of great beauty not helped by the fact he has no tail it looks like cows have eaten it while he was Ireland .
I was relieved when the vet said he will look fabulous in two years .
Like most ID's his nature sold him .

Congratulations on your new boy, he sounds lovely. My ID girl was a 6 yo when I bought her and I always hoped she would grow into her huge looking head and that her pigeon chest would fill out :D
I'm pleased to say she did and although I am biased everyone on new yard thinks she's the nicest mare on yard.

She's 17 now and although we had a few issues when she was growing and learning she really is a pleasure to be around.

This one has a little neat head ( and no tail ) lovely is not the best description of him TBH .
But I am confident n time he will look fab.
Mr GS has been on telephone from Istanbul teasing me that I am not going to look so smart on the hunting field riding this one bacause my beauiful stops the breath in throat TB is temporarily broken having had a TB self harming incident so I going to have to take out the tail less knock hocked narrow chested ID .
He ( or she) who laughs last laughs longest I say.

What he lacks in appearance at the moment he will more than make up for with his behaviour and attitude. They are slow developers but well worth the wait. No doubt he'll soon be a very impressive hunter.

He is by Gortlea Ruler and the damsire is Windgap Blue
He has the look of the damsire so my guess is that's how he's going to look when mature.

Congratulations. I hope he develops into a great horse, he sounds really interesting. I'm currently missing the intrigue of a new one, so I'm quite envious.
