I brought this chap in feb after losing alot of confidence on an ex racehorse who had a skrew loose. I was looking at pictures today and i cant believe how far we have come..... I think we should all take a look back and see what progress we have made.

Today - after 8 months together (however only been riding him 5 due to a shoulder op in the summer)

He is fabulous - took me 9 months to find him but im glad i waited; its easy to give in after you have been looking a while. So if your busy looking.... never give up!! Its TOTALLY worth the wait =D

It took my 6 months to find Koko and I got him in May, I clicked with him amazingly and we bonded so much. When we bought him I was planning on competing him properlly until next summer but by September we were out BSing :D

We came very far flatwork wise, he went from having no muscle and me having to carry his head to towards the end he had good self carriage. We came very far together and I'm very proud of him :)

And can I just say your horse has an amazing technique over the jump. he really bascules :D

Slightly longer than the rest of you due to health issues with Wings (abcesses and other feet problems), but in 2 years, Wings has gone from not going over a pole, to flying round well built 75cm courses at competitions and winning, and much bigger at home (up to 1m-1.10m) happily, and could do BS now, however I don't have time atm (though plan to affiliate in the summer)

Flatwork wise, he's gone from being seriously overbent (think chin to chest constantly), to long and low work, to a more upright, 'advanced' outline where he is balanced, can collect and extend all paces pretty well, has established some lateral movements.

Hacking wise, he has gone from spooking at everything and anything, to being happy hacking out alone. He still spook occasionally, but whereas he used to spin and bolt, he now just stares at it and gives it a wide berth. :D

(will try and dig out some pictures if I can find any)

I got Samba June 12th as a broodmare who had ridden and driven, started doing ground work with her (once I could get near her) a month later with baggage in tow. Originally planned to drive her again but when baggage went about a month and half ago she turned a corner. This month she is doing basic schooling in walk and trot. And going over trotting poles. Have had a few very succusseful hacks (One very unsuccessful one) and had a small canter on one, kind of not asked for but wasnt strong either, just happened. And the best bit is we have such a brilliant bond already :D So proud of her she is probably one of the most geniune ponies I have met in a while. I love the way that when she does something new or that she wasnt sure on (like crossing the SLOW on the road) as soon as I pat her whither her whole body relax's which I read is "thanks mum, glad I did good" :D
