Hi Everyone,

Firstly... sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I joined the forum last year, but dont post very oftern. I come on and read alot of peoples thoughts and ideas on problems to get ideas for my own horses, but have started feeling a bit guilty of being a 'read and run' member.... so i thought i'd post and be polite.

No real point to my post, but i'll like to say what a great forum and group of knowledgeable people you all are, i have got loads of info and ideas for problems I've had in the past.

(sorry if I've mis-spelt anything, im not great at spelling, but will try to be correct as i can.) :)

Hello :)

Tell us about your horses, and be prepared to be asked politely/mugged for pictures of them! What sorts of stuff do you do with them? I am currently bringing on a yearling native pony, whom I hope to do some showing in hand with next year.

Ha Ha, you are braver than me. Well done for breaking the ice.

I too am quite new. I have replied to posts where people have asked for points of view, but never been an OP (took me a while to work out what that was, I thought it might be a revered person called Oscar Peters or something! ;-0 )

Thinking back on my replies I guess I have given a lot about myself, my saddle type, what I do with my horses, his name, what he has for Xmas, even how many rugs he has and what type they are!

What do you have?

Hi,

Im terrible with uploading pics but i'll have ago when i can. :)

I'd love to have ago at showing, I've never done it before, so maybe something to try in 2014!

Ok, so me and my mum have three old retired neds that we share (horses tend to stay with us till the bitter end) 'Heidi' is a 16.1 arab x ID mare, 34 years young. She was a hunting mare in her young days. School master and a total cool dude!! She is now just a happy retired field girl.
'Taffy' is my pony. 14.2 Welsh Sec D, about 22 years young. He has the mega Welsh attitude, was a real hand full when he was younger, has great bloodlines (nebo) but was diagnosed with arthritis years ago and was really only ever a hack. He is retired too, and a field/mud monster!
'Nicky' is a mini shetland, about 30ish. He was a rescue pony and we cant be sure of his age. He taught me to ride/fall off alot as a child!

Finally..... 'Billy!' owned by just me. He is a 6year old TB X ID (mostly ID) 16.2 dak bay. I've had him a year and a half, bought him from his breeder (which i love as i know all of his history) Bred by a local stallion 'Mr Twist' who is KOD bloodlines. He is my life and baby! Hoping to get out eventing next year. I compete with him; unaffiliated dressage (Prelim) and Show jumping 95/ 105cm at comps, schooling bigger. He loves to jump! He is a cheeky monkey and is always in trouble! He has broken my foot atm (my fault, didnt move faster enough) so I'm awaiting an opp next year...... that'll be me out of the saddle for a while! booooo.

sorry for the mammoth post! ha ha
