i got my new kanteq through the post today:D

first impressions were, eeek it weighs a ton! but as others have said, once on i didnt notice the weight at all and i have to say it feels way more substantial than any other bp ive tried, inc my racesafe. One thing i would say is that you cant wear a normal round neck tshirt under it as it would rub your neck, you need something with more of a neck, like a polo shirt.

wendy from kanteq has been so helpful and is currently helping me with getting the fit 100%. At the moment Im finding it tight across the bottom and it digs in when i bend forward, but its a bit big over the shoulders. Wendy is confident we can get it right for me and is sending out the next size for me to try. Very impressive customer service :)

just wondered how all you people with kans found them when you first put them on? did you find the zip hard to do up?

My first impression was that it was too small - and it was! Wendy insisted that I should be able to do it up, which I did, surprisingly, with the help of a very fit male colleague and much to the amusement of everybody around - I must have some very squishy insides and bones probably too - but I still didnt feel comfortable. And I cannot count on having a strong person around every time I need to wear the bp. What I definitely can count on, though, is that I'll put on some weight over time - so I'm currently waiting for a size 3 cover; apparently the foam parts are the same for size 2 and 3. The people at Kanteq have been lovely and very helpful. When my cover gets here I have to prepare for some serious ridicule - where I am (not UK), only kids were body protectors - and never ones as humongous as this one! :-)

lol, yeh i can imagine you having to get help to zip it up!

i have been wearing mine in the house for a bit now and i have to say it has definately eased off, although i still have ti really pull the to parts of the zip together to meet. There is no way it would go over my show jacket though and thats important so i think the next size up cover will be what i need too. it is definitely far more solid than the racesafe i have and i do feel i would be better protected in it :)

Mine fits perfectly when on, but I do struggle with the zip! Because the material stretches round the internal stuff it can be quite hard to get zip ends to meet! I find squashing it between my arms whilst holding the zip works best, then it's really easy to do!

Wendy is amazing! I ordered mine as an Xmas present to myself after a couple of nasty falls. She rang me the day after I ordered it to double check measurements (ordered online.) Then we had snow! She rang me once a week updating me of when she could post it, threw in the medical card holder bit for free, instead of the £10 it's supposed to be, then rang to check I'd got it and it fitted ok! Wonderful customer service from her.
