Oh wow, what an update! I'm so pleased she's been found, how on earth did she manage that adventure? I too like Dora (the explorer) or maybe Houdini?

Thank you for all of your kind words, comments and suggestions. Her sister is very unsure and keeps growling at her but Google says this is normal when one cat goes to the vets. She is very very thin and we are going to see the vets either tomorrow or Tuesday to see what we can do to support her - the vets who treated her are emailing our vets with her treatment record. Lots of little and often wet food but we will see if the vets have a better quality version or maybe try and find a tiny jacket. Hopefully there is no long term organ damage.

Vets take a bit of a bashing at times but the vets who treated her were magnificent. She was comatose when found and the vets put her under light and on a warmed drip. They saved her but, because she was brought in as a stray, didn’t charge us. They knew she probably wasn’t a stray as she was still wearing her velcro kitten collar. They just asked for us to make a donation to their chosen charity this year. This is where it gets spooky - their chosen charity this year is the local hospice rather than an animal charity - the same hospice where my wonderful sister in law recently passed away. Read of that what you will.

She’s back! Someone found her in the woods about 1/2 mile from home and took her to the vets. She was dehydrated, emaciated and hypothermic so they put her on a drip and gave her glucose and brought her back to life. One post on the village Facebook page this morning from the vets and we went to collect her. She is so so so very thin and we have instructions to keep her warm and feed her little and often. No idea where she has been and how she survived but she has. Now to finally name her - any suggestions?
Great news.

Call her "Perdita".

Means "the lost one"

Or "Pur-dita"

I'm so glad you found her! Your daughter must be over the moon. The vets that treated her sound amazing, perhaps you could also pop round with a box of chocolates for all the staff to share?
What about Sassy, like the cat in Homeward Bound?

When my puppy went through ice into the canal the vets checked him for free, so I went to the supermarket and filled a bag with chocolate and biscuits and sweets and took it in and they were thrilled.

I had a wee comatose kitten collapse on my back porch last summer and nursed him back to health
I fed him the kitten mousse (I think it was Purina) as it was easier for him to lick (or faceplant in!) when he was very weak
He also got the cat equivalent of Diroalyte syringed in to keep him well hydrated
He needed a few doses of steroids to fight off various infections (cat flu etc) picked up because he was so weak
He eventually made a full recovery apart from his wee coat which stayed wiry

ETA: He slept on a hot water bottle in a furry cover which helped keep weight on him and keep him comfortable.
Unfortunately he never had any ability to relate to other cats or animals as he had been separate for so long so he was an absolute pain in the ass with the rest of the cats and the dogs, couldn't read social cues at all...

I opened this with some trepidation I have to say. I'm super thrilled for you that she's alive.

I would name her Phoenix. Hope her sister comes round. It's been a while, so that and the smell of the vet will upset her.
