new Life paint-are you thinking what I am thinking?

He he I can see me having a glow in the dark horse lol!
On a more serious note do these cyclists not think to wear proper hi viz and reflective at present? I didn't see many wearing anything other than dark clothes so no wonder they dice with death every day!

There is actually a variant of this for horses. here http://www.albedo100.co.uk/product/horse_and_pets/hp_reflective_spray.html

The same company makes one for fabrics too. We spray the horse's quarters (with the horse one) and the back of the jacket (with the clothing one) for when my daughter is hunting. On occasion the field is very late back and on the roads at dusk. And of course none wear hi viz. It is just a bit more protection. It does wash out though so no good in persistent or heavy rain. Obviously proper hi viz is better and I don't want to spark a debate on whether hunts should wear hiviz or not - it is just another "tool in the box" so to speak.

You can spray designs on the horse which reflect under show lights.. but we've not done that.

I don't understand that because I always take hi viz hunting for the hack home, it goes in my saddle bag and when I do ride in the dark I have so much hi viz/reflective/light stuff on that I don't think something that washes off would help much, the same on the bike I guess but presume it suits some :).

Oh I am going to have to get some of that, the kids will love being able to put stars all over prince for our evening summer rides :)

It surprised me in the video that not more of them were wearing hi-vis - I (hope) that was just to make their product seem even more necessary, it is an advert after all.
My dad cycles a lot, on narrow dark country roads, and he does wear hi-vis - but if he has to cycle in the dark/almost dark, the neon sort of hi-vis loses its effectiveness, and a lot of bikes and clothing (same goes for riding gear) don't have a whole lot of reflective stuff which really shows up in the headlights - so this seems like a great way to customise clothes and gear to give them more visibility. Thinking about buying him a can of this actually!!

I can think of a lot of uses for it, actually - when I was a kid I went to a rural primary school and a lot of us walked home on the same tricky country roads, I imagine if my mum had had the chance she'd had sprayed our uniforms head to toe in this stuff (seeing as the 'reflective badge' the school gave out once was pretty much a token gesture!)

I imagine, but don't know for sure, they weren't wearing hi viz in the video to help show the difference when the paint was sprayed on.
It does make sense though to wear hi viz AND spray it with this paint, so you glow more when headlights hit you.
The reflective tape on most hi viz would also emphasise this.

Shay, this paint can be sprayed on fabrics as well as hard surfaces, so covers most things a rider would wear.
Imagine spraying the whole horse and rider, might cause a few accidents as dozy drivers driving down dark country lanes end up in the hedge as they think they have encountered a ghost!
Oz :)

I need to spray some on my horse's rugs so I can find him when I'm up at 6am before hunting! Dark horse in a dark rug on a dark morning makes for a stressful flog round the field - this stuff sounds ideal.
