Found this lump on my mare after i clipping her out on monday. She had a very thick typical native coat beforehand. However did check with others who confirmed that it was not there beforehand when they were treating her. Not sure what it is really its in her rump area on the right hand side.

is it soft or hard? Could well be swelling from a kick. Is she sound? I'd keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go down in a day or so then perhaps think of getting the vet out

Its now more soft was hard when i first saw it she is out by herself so cant be from a kick. Vet is out next wend for my shetland. She is soundish on legs anyway as she is footsore on stones etc but sound on roads and fields.

could she have rolled on something? I have no idea! Let me know what the vet says, seems sensible to get them to have a quick look whilst out for shettie anyway.
