In what has seemed like a very long time (actually only four days :) ) the new project arrived today all the way from Yorkshire. He is a 3 year old tb called Daft Lad(i know ,i know!) he is about 15.3hh but is still a bit bum high so he may come up again in front. Flat bred as far as I can tell (not very hot on my pedigrees) as he is by Danbird, out of Stolen Melody who in turn is by Robellino. He is very different from my current ex racer as he is very short and compact (5'9'' rug :) ) but has settled himself in right away. He was very skinny and tucked up when he arrived so he will have a couple of weeks eating and generally getting used to our yard and then we will start some long lining and short hacks hopefully

ah yes the unholy trio of Fred,Bracken and Mistletoe- our resident under 12hh horrors ! Think they are just sizing him up- when my 16.3hh arrived ,mistletoe(little tubby white thing) managed to get him on the ground by biting the backs of his knees :)

With pleasure - she is a nightmare in a very cute welshie way ! She removes her bridle, headcollar when she pleases ,lies down with small children riding her and is just generally not a kids pony - aw well - far to cute to get rid of !

I have to keep it for showing as ex racers have to be shown under their racing names but at home I'm not sure. They called him daft at his last home but we have come up with dee, diago or darcy as a stable name

Some more pictures of the slim jim :) Sorry about the poor quality - piddling down with rain and the poor boy doesn't have a hair on him :)

bit bum high me thinks :)

On the plus side he survived a rather rapid introduction to the biggest baggage in the field and seemed to get on fine :)

It has honestly not come up for air since he arrived :) Has eaten his way through 2 bales of horsehage in two days - gulp ! Seems a nice boy through even if he did try to eat my electrice fence :)
