New pony at stables. Help.

YO bought a pony a few weeks back and he was brought into work about 2 weeks ago.

My instructor Michelle said he was alot like JJ but was very very strong and has heardly any breaks. Hes in some sort of snaffle as far as I know.

I'd really like to ride him, but not sure which type of lesson, group or on my own. If I ride him in a group he will end up charging to the back of the ride, whereas if i ride him in a group I may ask for trot, get a canter instead and not beable to stop!

I'm going to talk to Liz (YO) and Michelle but just wondered what people on here thought I should do??

I would try him in a private lesson as more likely to listen to you, and not be distracted by other horses within a group lesson.....good luck and have fun!

What about a lesson on the lunge first ??

Private so that instructor can concentrate on you and the pony, you will achieve a lot more
