Some of you may remember previous posts of mine about my dramas with my previous horse Paddy....his napping, bucking, leaping and general quirks etc...
So.....after a heartbreaking decision about 6 weeks ago i put him out on loan to an old owner who was the only person who has ever got on with him and he seems happy as larry which im really pleased about.

I did have a major rethink about getting another horse after the previous 5 months of hell and heartbreak.....but then.....along came Alice!!

Alice is a 16.1hh TB x WB who has been there, done that and got the t-shirt eventing etc and belongs to a friend of mine who has had her for 9 years. So i am having her on permanant loan.
So far we have just been hacking out.....she had a foal last year so is being brought back into work but she is loving it and we are getting on great!
We have hacked alone, with others, the other day we went out as a group of 4 and the others were going for a long ride...i had to be back early so after a trot halfway up a hill....the others kept trotting and i stopped Alice and brought her home and she hapily left the others and pottered home by ourselves.
We have passed pretty much all traffic you can think of and also a festival with tents, gazebos, fires, flags, balloons etc....she didnt make a fuss at all.
She is exceptionally easy to do in all ways!
So all in all things are going really well!

Sorry turned into a long ramble!!

And now for some pics :-)

She looks beautiful and sounds like a wonderful mare. :D I'm so glad she has come into your life after all you went through with Paddy you deseve a nice horse now. :D
I'm glad Paddys happy with his old owner. Sounds like you made the right choice at the right time for the both of you. :)

I know this is soppy but I believe all things happen for a reason I think you where ment to find Paddy but then he was ment to go back to his old owner and then you where ment to find Alice. :D

Ok Ok I'll stop with the crazy talk. Hope you have lots of fun with her and keep us updated in how you are getting on. :D:D

Lol Laura, its not soppy....tbh thats what we think too....if i hadnt have come across paddy....i dread to think what would have happened to him as he is soooooo quirky.
So maybe it was meant to be so that he didnt end up somewhere he shouldnt!
I dont quite know why him and this girl work...but they just seem to, which im really pleased about! i put all of my energy in trying to get to the bottom of him but at the end of the day this is the best thing for him to be with her and be happy!

But its soooooooo weird going to the yard and going for a ride and actually going where you intended without a battle of wills!!!

I miss Paddy every day....but at the end of the day he is still mine....he is happy....and i can go and see him whenever i want!

She is certainly a lovely mare! because she evented alot she doesnt get phased by other horses coming and going and she just seems to have a very willing and happy go lucky attitude to everything which is nice!

How is the horrid one?? (well not so horrid these days by the sound of things!)

She has got a really girly girl pretty face! and a really cute bit of a roman nose!

Its big thanks to Rob my long suffering other half for the lovely pics.....he came to the yard yesterday with me to meet Alice and brought his camera along to make the most of the beautiful weather.

She looks lovely, so glad it's all worked out in the end!

Deciding a horse is not the one for you is a really, really difficult decision, but it seems as if it was the right one here, you have found a good home for Paddy and found a more suitable partner for yourself, so everyone wins!

What a lovly lady, so pleased for you all its worked out this way. wishing you loads of fun together, you have surely earnt it!!

Thanks ever so much for your kind comments everyone.

Im really lucky to have been offered such a lovely horse on permanant loan and one thats been known by my instructor and people i know for 9 years so i know her history and that she isnt going to try and kill me at the first opportunity!

I have never really ridden horses bigger than 15.1/15.2 on a regular basis so at just over 16.1 she is a bit bigger than im used to but i have to admit as soon as i sat on her she felt just right.

So hopefully lots of fun to be had! And i know im biased....but she is a bit beautiful! :-D

Look forwards to updating you on what we get up to x
