Hey all,

Well iv bought my yo daughters pony as he's been stood in field unridden and wasted for like 3 years now. Hes a sweet little pony but has learnt the typical naughty pony habits(that bucking=rider off) so im bringing him back into work to sort out his bucking/his headstrongness and to get him back into shape and its not fair on him.

I love him to bits and if he turns out the sort of pony I like then id potentially keep him to do a bit of everything with and as a companion to my horse. If not, then il get him fit and his problems sorted and he'll be sold on to a home that'll appreciate him.

My questions are simply do you think I look too big/weigh too much to keep him as a pony for myself(only just moved onto horses) and in the current market how much do you think he'd be worth if I sold him next spring/summer?

Hes approx 14hh(need to measure him), approx 15 years old(need to check passport), chestnut welsh x gelding. In past has done all pony club activities, was well schooled, good jump, 100% on ground etc.

Thanks guys :)

I dont think you look overly huge on him, and you are definitely not too heavy for pony - from the images on the link.

Pony looks sweet enough, just needs to get rid of that grass belly! Can imagine that pony will be quite smart looking when fit!

Have fun
x

I think he's a stunner. And no, you don't look too big on him.

Once he's fitter and lost his potbelly he'll look even better. I hope you have very happy times with him.

Thanks guys :) I need to loose a bit of weight anyway but atm im about 9st8lbs. Aim to be about 9stone. Do you think he can carry that and jump/gallop fine with me?

Thankyou all, I think hes a pretty little chap and once hes fit he'll be a star. Hes not fat outwards really hes belly just is very dropped. He hasnt been wormed for ages so needs that but do you think its grass belly then and nothing else?

I need to get his passport as they havent given it me yet but I think they said he was welsh x arab. I cant see that personally but il have a look :)

OP, when you get his passport can you PM me his breeding details please? It's a long-shot, but my boy's younger brother was bright chestnut, similar markings, called George, and would be late teens, Arab x Welsh!! Wouldn't that be amazing if he were the same one, I have some photos as a youngster I could dig out if he is. :)

You look fine on him but I would possibly look at getting a saddle with a larger seat as you seem to be sitting on the back of it :)

CrazyDancer- Really? Wow.. As soon as i get passport il pm you details. It sounds like it could be him. That would be amazing if it was.... He came from a home which did a lot of pony club before my yo got him? He was advertised for sale by the people that found him for my yo as 16years old, welsh x arab and his names george and im guessing they got those details from his passport so.... :D

broke_but_happy- thats the next thing on list my list after sorting his feet(which I did today) as the saddles a tiny kids saddle(im amazed I fit it at all!)

Thanks guys im glad you like him :D
