He has an awful virus casuing him a snotty nose . The irritated esophagus is now making him cough HORRIBLY ( like I have never seen before!) Vet has him on anti b's as he assumes bacteria have invaded the irritated esophagus and I have him in his house with a heat lamp as it is going to rain and be very cold tonight.
It just makes me want to run away when he coughs as he sounds like he is going to keel over!

I have never had a horse cough like this and I pray it goes away soon. Also hoping whatever he has (must have carried it here when I bought him ) does not infect the others. He is alone, but not the full football field length suggested by vet

Has the vet taken swabs? What bacteria does he suspect the pony has? And what anti-b's did he put the pony on?

He must have a bit of an idea of what it is if he has prescribed TMS - or should I say, he must have an idea of what it isn't.....

Hope the little one recovers with no long-lasting effects. Just what you need eh?

lol...that is what I was thinking

I just feel so bad for the old guy..he seems to be in good spirits though.

I cannot say what the vet was thinking but as he is my only option for a vet in the area I have to trust him. He seems insane at times but he has not really failed me yet. Kooky but smart

Actually quite annoys me when vets/docs dont swab, ... no wonder as a nation we are becoming resistant to alot of anti B's out there..... a swab would take 10 mins and then at least treatment could be tailored to suit what your pony actually has ... Grr sorry small rant over!!

Hope ponio gets well really soon!!
