Hello everyone, I thought I'd just pop by and let you all know how I am getting on in my loan home :)
First and foremost I've been a very good boy, but then thats no surprise :)

My rider has been busy at Tattersalls yearling sales for the past fortnight, so she's just been taking me for hacks a few times a week, with the odd bit of schooling in the field, which I'm never terribly enthusiastic about ;) But she has promised me that I can get out and about a bit more now!
She took me for a nice long hack today, I'd only ever been on the route with company before. And today there were lots of scary roadworks which I was a little unsure about, but my rider led me past some extremely scary ones, which I was grateful for :)
She's making me do more trot work now *sigh* as she says I have to be fit if I want to go out and about to exciting places!

Back at home, I'm great friends with my fieldmate Apollo, who is just 3, so I get to push him around a bit ;) I'm still living out for the time being, and the grass is so lovely I keep eating too much of it. So as a result, I've had my feed cut right back down again, which is just not fair!!!
I've attached some pics so you can see my big grass belly, and also some cheeky ones where I am bossing Apollo around a little ;)

Hi Raff my gorgeous one!

Lovely to hear from you. Can I come and join you if there's lots of grass? Mum's still watching my weight like a hawk, although I guess it means I'm slim for you! I've also been clipped so I am naked... ;)

Love you lots!

how come you had to get off and lead? was he being a pain? i've never known him not to go past anything, or indeed be scared of anything... was it mega scary? eek! i'll email you in a bit...

hope you're both having lots of fun together. iggle says hello. xxx

Pop, it was MAJOR scary roadworks, no workmen, just lots of big scary cages across the road, lol!! I would be surprised if he has seen anything like it before. And there was a herd of about 20 mares in the field next to us. I was asking him to go on a verge between the 2, and he was just a bit overfaced as we were alone. :)
Don't worry! He just dug in, but I was as surprised as you ;)
I'm certain he'll be fine if we went there again, he was fine once past it, it was no big deal, I just took the easy option. :)
I'm quite ashamed of his big belly, lol, I'm having my hay and straw delivered this week, so he can come off the grass at night, and now the sales are over, he can have some longer hacks! Going for a nice long one today with an old friend, which should be fun :D

Dear Raff,

Glad your leg is all better and you like your new loan home! You have to keep these youngsters in line (god knows I have a job with that dimwit Ollie!) or they just dont know when to stop! A good clout generally does the trick.
I feel for you dude, rubbish amounts of dinner are not on. My mum makes me only eat Hi-Fi lite, it sucks. Just let your loaner kmow that you were made to cuddle, so the more of you there is......the better!
Were there any fit mares in that field (not that it matters if you have Genie after ya bod!)?

Little Stig x

Hahaha!! Unfortunately he has had to get used to the fields and fields of horses around here :D I'm yet to take him past the stallions, although I may do so today, but he will have company so I'm sure he'll be fine with it. It really is like horse central around here ;)
Weather is lovely here too, so going to enjoy it while we can!!
