Hi everyone!!
Before I begin, please note that this is NOT an advertisment as the product in question does not exist yet, I'm just trying to get some feedback, market research if you will
My dad works in sustainable lighting (energy efficient LED lighting mostly) and after spending ages wiring up my stable so I can connect my lightbulbs to my generator, he wondered if there was an easier way to do it, especially for ladies who may not have the help of an electrician.
He's come up with the idea of an 'install it yourself' solar powered stable or field shelter light. It would provide enough working light for multiples of 16sqaure foot (your average 12x12 stable). It would run on pure solar energy and run for approximatley six hours, no need for electricity or charging.
It would be very simple to install (so that you could install it yourself) it would be compact and not 'bulky'.
What are peoples thoughts on this type of product? Would it be of interest to those of you who like me don't have electricity at the yard and struggle when bringing in and bedding down in the winter months? Or perhaps those who only have field shelters but would like some form of lighting in case of night time emergencies?
Any feedback appreciated, especially if you can think of any features the light should have or things it should conform to.
The general idea is to have something that alleviates the need for torches (trying to change a rug when a torch is your only source of light is a nightmare!!) And also alleviates the need for bulky generators that can be hard to start on your own and costly to run in terms of petrol. This lighting system would be a flick of a switch kind of set up.
thanks everyone!
