Overdue for an update, with plenty of pics as I’m rubbish at writing ?

Bonnie has now been here for just over 5 weeks. On the one hand I can’t believe how fast it’s gone and on the other it’s like she been here forever!

I introduced a roller with some flappy side reins and took her up the road to the school to have a wander and look about. A bit wide eyed and looky but very good overall and quickly chilled to take it in her stride.

Saddle introduced with no fuss whatsoever.

She’s been on a few in hand hacks just having an explore and getting used to traffic and being away from the others. Great with vehicles so far, she wasn’t so sure about those bicycle things at first but we seem to be getting there.

She’s been so good I thought sod it, I’m going to hop on. So I did! ? Only very briefly and mainly to practise standing at the block whilst I faff about.

Yesterday she had a full on bath/groom/trim/polish session and I think she’s looking fab, so pleased.

I’ve got to remember she’s only 3, so we aren’t going to do much more. She’s already met the targets I wanted for the end of the summer (saddle, rider sitting on board, basic in hand work and hacking). I think she will do some long reining and pole work and a handful of sit ons until Oct/Nov, when she will have the whole winter off and be stared again fresh come the spring.
