My new little project pony arrives today, can't wait til 5.30 so I can go and meet him!! He is a 14hh approx, 5yr old bay roan NF gelding. He was rescued and kept at a sort of rescue centre but it actually seems to do the horses more harm being there than good. The RSPCA have been looking into the place. The horses are out in a huge herd crammed into a field which is totally bare and completely covered in poo. They are not fed or hayed and their feet are a state. I got this pony for a very low price as they wanted to get rid of him as he is unsuitable for giving pony rides - how they make their money. The whole organisation is a bit weird!!
Anyhow, I have never met this pony but I knew of him through a friend of mine who had tried to help get the rescue centre going a bit. Apparently he is very sweet but was broken in by people who dont have a clue what they are doing. Therefore he is extremely green and needs a lot of work doing. My plan with him is to take things really slowly, make sure he is healthy, feed him up and give him loads of fuss and love, and then completely re-back him starting from scratch and do things properly. The aim is to make a nice little alrounder and sell him to a lovely home and hopefully make myself a little profit too
Oh, and his name is bailey so i now own 2 horses of the same name!! Confusing!!!
Here is a piccie - I will take loads of 'before' pics when i meet him for the first time tonight but don't you think he looks like he will be a little sweetie
and a piccie of the original bailey just because i love him!!
