hi i have just got a 5 month old pup from the dogs trust she is so ace but i am having a prob with the older dog he just doesnt seem to be accepting her if she bounces on him and tries to play he growls and snarls at her im so worried they arent going to get on i know its early days she only came on monday any ideas how to help the situation please

You're right, she's only been there for two days.

Let him have a place like a crate or another room where he can have some time out, don't flood him, it's like an old man living in a house with his friends and then a really annoying hyper teenager comes in and starts pestering the **** out of him.

Plus he is probably feeling resentful that there is a new pup getting all the attention!

Some dogs won't automatically get on with others, but do give them time.

i have been thinking of crate training the pup he just goes behind the coach when he has had enough and i still take him out on his own sometimes so we can still have just me and him time what is the best way to use a crate never used one so dont want to get it wrong

Shoot Cayla or Katielou_Houston a PM :)

The idea though is not to shut the dog away or punish it or SEND it for a time out, it is meant to be a safe, fun place for the dog to be.
The old boy might like one more, a crate would be nicer than hiding behind the sofa :p
