So, we seem to have ended up with a Sprocker puppy. On Thursday I was still saying to OH that I didn't want a puppy, I would prefer an older dog, but here we are, the new owner of a 11 week old Sprocker. He's officially OH's dog as I already have a very-attached-to-me German Shepherd. I've always owned dogs, but they normally find me as adult dogs and we haven't had a puppy in 20 years! I think, comparing him to my friends Spaniel X puppy, that he's quite calm for his breed, but we are feeling slightly shell shocked at the moment 😂.

Anyhow, I need to arrange insurance. I have no idea as I've not insured a dog before (my other dog was already middle aged when I got her, so stupidly expensive). Who should I avoid? There seem to be hundreds of different companies, most of which I haven't heard of. I plan to take out lifetime cover and I think I'll need at least £7k of cover?

Help!

Obligatory photo of the bundle of trouble.

I just went with Tesco - they were cheap and I wasn’t intending in insuring for years, in fact I just did the first year and my dog is now four and a half years old with no issues. I have the funds to cover any issues that arise.

I am picking up a puppy soon though so will be interested on who you use!

Napo and Agria are two others that would be worth getting a quote from. Agria aren't on the comparison sites though so you have to go directly to their website.
