Not mine! My daughter has bought a puppy, she bought it ages ago but he’s finally ready.
I was worried at first she’s done the classic designer x breed/puppy farm thing but a friend looked into it all for us and researched the seller and it seems to be a genuine pet having a litter. Not ideal but it’s all been fairly responsibly done I think.
He has his first jab and vouchers for the next, is chipped etc and has been for a full vet check. Coming with blankets and starter food. She’s “met” him several times on zoom and had photos and videos sent regularly. The mums owner is local and they plan to keep in touch, maybe dog walk together when he’s older and that’s allowed.
Sadly of course I can’t see him straight away but will do soon.
My first grandchild ? so very exciting
I’m very worried about her walking him but they spend most of the time on her boyfriends family farm so can do a lot of private fields walking. Is it ok to take him out round the farm straight away? (It’s the only farm in history with no other dogs!) as he won’t meet anything?

How exciting, poiuytrewq! He won't be covered for Leptospirosis (from rat urine) until after second vaccination, so definitely not safe around fields until then. There is obviously more risk from this around farm buildings, but rats get everywhere. The general recommendation is not to go out until a week after second injection. :)

Ah ok. We wondered if keeping him away from other dogs was good enough. Just the garden then.
thank you!

I'm excited for you ! There's nothing more delicious than a new puppy in the family. I'm having to make do with videos of my daughters collie puppy. By the time I get to actually hold him, he'll be very large and very wiggly. Its a bit sad to miss such a lovely time.
Re walking on the farm, why not phone the vet for advice.

What fun! No idea what a Chorkie is though?! Hope not a chowchow with a Yorkie (well not if the Yorkie is the mum!) Nothing beats a puppy smell.

@Amymay Bernese are my favourite. I've had 5 but unfortunately they are rather short lived.

Yes, their last one died last year at a couple of days short of 8.

Ah is it chihuahua x Yorkie?
That’s the one! I wasn’t sure how to spell it ?
Yes, mum is a chihuahua and dad is a Yorkie.
She’s got him, they sent him with a bag full of stuff including a printed weekly photo diary! The lady has also really emphasised any problems at all to get in touch and that she’s willing to have him back for holiday cover whenever required!
