New puppy unhappy

I suspect they misunderstood the vet who probably meant not to take it out where other dogs are, not to take it out at all.
Not sure how a crate could come with instructions, it would all depend on what the purchaser was planning on using it for. Anyway as said before, the pup will hopefully find a good home now, which is the main thing.

cages dont need to come with instructions - people need to read up before they buy puppies:rolleyes: This sounds like the blind leading the blind. Sorry but they smarting at the cost of the 'chrome cage' but willing to pay £800 for the pup in the first place? The cost of the pup is just the mere beginning. Thank goodness the pup has gone to a rescue and next time a neighbour or friend needs help with a puppy perhaps point them in the direction of someone who actually knows a thing a two:rolleyes: As someone else said, anyone can be a dog owner, it doesn't make you a dog person.
Ya boo, for sure I won't come on here for advice or ideas in future, I was told to get instructions from Cala, so there can be instructions, I did not sell them the cage, it was their vet, the costs involved vet fees travel [550 miles round trip] donation to Rescue Center and so on.
I think my advice to them was good, I would not have bought the pup to begin with, and I would not allow it to sleep, pee or poo anywhere, but in designated areas, I would have put it out in the yard as soon as it woke up. I think this is as far as one can go when advising people, or do you think I should have told them they were morons [see previoous posters], and too old for a dog?, my God some people will be lobbying for a dog owning test next.
They arranged the purchase of the pup, not me.

I'll lobby for a 'dog owning test', damn right!

Ditto.

People go out & buy an unsuitable dog without researching what they are getting or realising their own limitations.
They may be an excellent home for an older dog rather than a puppy and if they had gone to a reputable breeder they would probably have been steered towards breed rescue.
As it is the breed rescue will get this puppy into a suitable home.

yup, right with you there vizslak! As for Caylas crate training guide, Ive not seen it yes, I suspect it's fab. That, however is different from crates coming with 'instructions' and for anyone who thinks otherwise, I believe therein lies the problem;)
