Soooo, I am moving into my palatial new residence (which I havent actually SEEN yet!) in October/November - YAYYY

But I am already planning what to do with the dogs....

The caravan is surrounded by hedges on three sides for privacy, but is not actually fenced in. Obviously the easiest solution would be to ask the YOs if they would mind me constructing a fence, but I am aware that it is their garden too so they might not want me to do that!

If this isnt possible, I need to think how the dogs can wander in & out of the caravan as they wish, without disapearing to murder the local wildlife/YOs cats/YOs chickens etc

My ideas so far have just got as far as a long line for each dog attached to a fixed point - has anyone got any other bright ideas please?

Get one of those invisible electric fences!!

Mmmm - is a tricky one but the long line might be a bit more problematic than it first seems - ok in the summer when you can leave the door open but as you are going to be there in winter you don't want them letting all the heat out!!

If they don't go for the permanent fencing could you sort out some kind of temporary electric fencing?

This would be for when I am at home, as the dogs are used to having the back door open all the time and wandering in and out as they wish. Having said that, and read the replies so far, I have now realised that it will soon be too cold to do that anyway

I was thinking about over the last few days when it has been sunny, and I have been sitting out in the garden in my deck chair with the dogs sunbathing then going inside when they are too hot

When I am at work/out without them then they will ALWAYS be shut inside, as they are at the moment, they are very used to that and they will be fine
