My nice new no fill turnout rug has arrived this morning and it has evidently been tried on a horse before. It's not used and muddy but has hair and dandruff inside. It was in the clearance section of the website and approx 15% cheaper than a different colour on the main page. If it had said it was a return I wouldn't have been disappointed but I feel miffed that I paid for it and it's not as new as I'd hoped. Should I complain or am I being a spoilt brat about it?

I would complain! They should still check the rugs even if they are a return, but like you I would be miffed as it didn't state it was a return.

Yes I would complain. New rugs should not be accepted back unless they are faulty or have been tried on over another rug and are spotless. If they are not spotless, the rugs shouldn't be sent to other customers.

It wasn't PE, if I was paying their prices I'd have been furious.
I sent a polite email this morning explaining I was disappointed and she's immediately responded with an apology and an offer of return/refund (there are no 7'6" rugs left to offer an exchange) or a £5 refund by way of goodwill. Actually chuffed with that! I will definitely use this company again now.
