new saddle curse- are we just unlucky?

Hi all,

About 4months ago my friend got a new saddle, rode in it once, next day horse went/ remains lame.

Wednesday, my new saddle arrived, rode in it, thursday morning lame!!!

Is this a common case of sods law?

Sounds very unlucky, have you checked out the causes yet?
My luck runs like that too!

Horse 1- a very deep rooted abscess.
Mr P- a small abscess or thorn stuck in his foot or bruised sole from standing on something (made the mistake of hacking round the fields the day after the hedges had been trimmed)!

That happened to me. A few years ago I got a saddle made and a week before it was due to be fitted horse got an abscess. I had to wait 3 weeks before I could get on my new saddle!

I've had a horse not quite right since May time but came slightly better over the summer and began light work. Due to time off work she 'blossomed' so paid £1,200 plus the usual extras for new saddle that could accommodate her extra belly, had physio out who said up the work slightly so I rode in the new saddle once and got it soaked through, rode in it a second time and horse is worse than ever.

Definately new saddle curse!
