New Saddle, if money was no object

I absolutely love my new Albion dressage saddle. At a couple of grand it was NOT cheap but is unbelievably comfy for both me and my ISH and has improved my leg position no end

i would have a new albion legend 2000 - they dont make these anymore and my one is a wide so fine for cob but not for my new horse probably- i have an slk which is nice but far prefer the 2000. i will probably try an ultima once my new (at this point imaginary) horse has muscled up a bit - ive tried loads of different saddles but always end up with an albion ... v comfy.

If money were no object it would have to be the Lamboghini saddle Millreef bought. In black (not red/black). Just to say I own a Lamboghini !

How much !!!! 6k

Well the one I like is only 3950 euros:D but by the time I've bought the matching bridle, girth, saddle pad, fly fringe, riding hat (which is really nice!), jods etc I suppose 6k would about cover it !
I think the one MR bought was in Hong Kong and considerably less money, still had some explaining to do to hubby though :o

I've just bought a wow for my youngster on the grounds that I bought my hafflinger 5 x 1k saddles in 4 years between the age of 4 and 8. I have to say it's the most beautiful thing I've ever sat my butt in, but I got it second hand and will have to change some of the components to get it to fit so it will probably end up costing me a fortune, but not as much as 5 new saddles in 4 years

I indulged in a Schleese, the new VSD because my horse is too wide for me to use a normal dressage flap. He has never gone better, but he is a difficult horse to fit - wide barrel, thick muscular shoulders and withers and very sensitive with it. It all depends on you and your horse surely - Barrie Swain ones are very good for the horse but very wide twist, for me on my mega horse I would end up with hip replacements! I found WOW's quite heavy (to lift on to horsie, not for horse to carry :)) and lots of others had much too narrow a gullet. If you have an easy horse to fit it is a much easier choice.

I'd find Andy Forster somehow and get him to make me a new Lauriche. I have three old ones and absolutely adore them.

I had one made for my now retired mare and although it wasn't a bad fit on my young horse it was not balanced enough on him for me to help him. Still have it after 2 years not used so should really think about selling it :-( I have a Sue Carson Grand Prix for youngster and love it to bits :-)

Does anyone know what happened to Andy Foster? Heard he had wound company up due to ill health but heard that he was now in America permanently?

I've tried to trace him without success but like you I heard he works in the States. Graham who works for Barrie Swain also worked with Andy and actually made lots of the Lauriche saddles so there is a connection. I recently had my oldest Andy Foster saddle fitted by Kay Humphries and restored by Graham; it now has a serge underside and is as near to my perfect saddle as I'm going to get. I bought all my Lauriches secondhand off Ebay so have never even met Andy, just admired his work.
