Had the saddle fitter out today and purchased an Albion k2 jumping saddle which im very chuffed about as had one a few years ago and loved.

But looking at my old shabby stirrups and leather which are black, saddle is brown I thought I would treat myself to a nice new pair but eek what make… to many to choose from. Would like some nice soft brown ones which aren’t to thick for minimal bulk. Do have some stubben ones on my dressage saddle but they are top hole so no good for jumping saddle- I must have short legs.

Thanks in advance- off to admire my new saddle!!!!!

Oooh, exciting! Congrats on the new purchase. :D I will nosey at your thread with interest as was thinking of getting new (brown) stirrup leathers also. I currently have Stubben ones, but have had to punch extra holes (and they were sold as junior, 48" ones?! I'm not that much of a short-ass at 5'6"! :o ) in them for XC and they seem to be stretching a bit after a year and a half regular use.

Would also like strong but skinny ones, so hope you get lots of good reccomendations that I can nab! :p

I've always used Stubben ones but always end up putting loads of new holes in them, even with junior ones (and I'm a stumpy 5'5). They last well, though.

OH swears by Derby House leathers which admittedly have stood the test of time with him and have barely stretched. He's got several pairs and they all look good. And not a crazy price either!!

Congrats on new saddle! I had a K2 on another coloured horse I had in the other year. Loved eventing in it and his build was similar to Magic's.

I need to crack on with my freelance work before I can justify a swanky new saddle xc saddle for Alfred!! :-)

Jaguar! Expensive, but worth it!! LOADS of holes and nice and close together to get perfect adjustment ;) Fab buckle which means no bulk too!!

Yup im the same with stubben there so long, im only 5'5 to and i hate punching holes in them always do it uneven!!!

I saw the bates ones on equestrian clearence they might be good or did have look at albion ones on the website but eek £££. To be fair on my old leathers, i have had i think a good old 10 years...

Love my new saddle, had one for patch a few years ago and loved but will now have to do lots and lots of lesson to pay for it!!!!

I agree with jumptoit, the bates ones are fabulous. They do look slightly orange when first bought but trust me with some wear and cleaning they die down and go a lovely chocolate colour. Hope this helps but I highly recommend them.
