New saddle - paying by credit card?

Not sure why, but a debit card replaced the cheque, so it just goes straight out of your account.

A credit card should always be used for a major purchase as you have some built in protection, I suppose because the credit card provider has checked out the business you are paying.

I am sure that someone will know all the legal bits.

You have more protection if things go wrong.
For example:
If you paid, but the company went bankrupt between payment and delivery, you would get your money back. This applies for most transactions, but there is Technically a minimum amount of £100 that you can claim for, but often the card companies honour lower figures.
Should the saddle turn out to have a defect, and the vendor wouldn’t help you, you can get redress through the card company too.
