Im very excited as I've just received the long awaiting phone call to tell me my new saddle has finally arrived and I pick it up tomorrow morning. :D
I know it's a very lame question, but seeing I haven't had a new saddle for about 13 years I'm more than a little rusty with such things.
So I ask, should I oil it before I use it?
I'm more than keen to get to the yard tomorrow afternoon to try it out but not sure if I attack it with Dubbin (or whatever) a few times or if saddles today are supple enough to use first time without it.
Any help appreciated.

Does your saddler not bring it out to check fit etc before you pay for it.

I would not oil it in case there is a problem when you try it on and it needs to go back or be adjusted.
