How long, on average, do new saddles take to bed in?

I've got a lovely new Ideal which needs a bit of stuffing at the front, but I've only been using it for a fortnight, so can't decide whether to get the saddler out now, or pad the front for a couple more weeks and then get it done

It's the first brand new saddle I've had for a long time, and I can't remember how long they normally take to settle

I bought a new saddle (Black Country) at Christmas at it needed re-flocking really quickly within about 2 weeks. My saddler has told me that it will probably need doing again but it has to be done gradually as if too much wool is put in at once it becomes too hard. She has lent me an equi-gel pad until it is totally flocked.

It's more or less now normal and supple. The first time I rode it in it was horrible, so stiff and just squeaked like mad !! I put loads of leather cream on it initially which seemed to help the leather get softer. Hope this helps.

I think I got my Ideal checked and stuffed after four weeks, but I'm sure they recommended between two and six weeks depending how often I rode.
