Does anyone know if ths has the cheek clip on the side? Its difficult to tell from photos as they could have been flipped round.

I have the old padded shires one which we have got on with very well for two years, but this year it ha started to rub my mare - I fitted her in a bigger muzzle (she is an arab x and I got her a full as the cob was too neat) but keep the straps short to stop it moving on her face and rubbing. This worked perfectly last year but this year she is getting rubs under the cheek clip, and it seems to be causing swelling on the other side of her cheek. I loosened it off lengthways, but this has just caused nose rubs and sores on her muzzle. I would like to try the new shires one, but I wonder if it will cause the same issues?

She does come up with grass glands now and again so the swelling could be from that, but I don't want her to be in pain - she needs a muzzle on though - its either that or stay indoors asshe goes pulsy within a few hours.

I've got one and I'm really pleased with it except it doesn't have a snap clip on the throat lash so you have to undo the velcro to get it on and off.

Last year I used a shires type muzzle on my Welsh D and it was fine, this year it has rubbed after only one day, I tried to get the Shires deluxe and cannot find one in stock anywhere so settled for the Shires comfort (same as deluxe but no sheepskin), no clip on side but a cob size is slightly bigger than the old one and after a week of use its not rubbed at all so really pleased with it.

Robinhood - that's good that it doesn't have the snap clip as that was the first bit that started to rub - it is handy for taking it on and off though. .

Lilacjackie - that is annoying, I have to say I'd like to see one in the flesh but I can't find one to compare sizing. Hopefully someone will have one online somewhere?

Thanks both, very helpful
