Thanks for all the advise about the setters, I was all set to go and see them this weekend but heard of a springer up for rehoming locally and went to get see him today and of course came home with him! He's 3 months, liver and white, no name yet! He was absolutely filthy, really stinky and covered in dirt and s**** so went in the bath as soon as he came home and is now clean and fluffy! He's not in the best shape, quite under weight and malnourised but brought him to the vets where he got his shot and wormed and with a bit of tlc he should be fine. He's a really sweet little character, loves attention but a bit nervy and overwhelmed. He's fast asleep now after his exciting day, I'll get some pics of him soon!
Any ideas of names appreciated, want something short and simple!

As CC says pics are required before naming frenzy commences. However, I have always liked the name Chance, as in 2nd chance in his case.!! :D

Yey!!

Short and simple??:confused::confused::confused: Spangle!!!:D:D:D

We need piccies asap - poor little boy but he has found himself a new home where he can be happy!! Can't be more help with name without seeing piccies......;):D:D:D

Aw bless, post some pics pleeeease!... they will be invaluable as before and after shots down the road! :D

We (by which I mean my military husband) called our cocker spaniel Bomber, but I had wanted to call him Jacob... now however we have both decided he should have been called Alan, and it has become our nickname for him :D I've no idea why but it certainly makes us smile :D

Will get some soon! Thanks, GSD was so unimpressed when she saw him, literally turned her nose up and then looked at me as if to say, what are you inflicting on me now?! Poor girl, I'm sure she'll come around!!

She will, our N was a bit like that when the Boydog arrived, but she loved him really :p

YAY!

Congratulations.

The other pups from Harvey's litter were called Dizzy (great name for a Spaniel!), Bailey, Charlie and Wellington.

Yaaaaaaaaaaay! I was wondering how you'd got on! Another Spaniel (and a proper one too, Springers are the bestest!)

Hmmm, suitable names for a Spaniel... Sh*tbag, OI!, Gitface, Youlittlebugger, Getherenow, Leaveit.... :D On a more serious note given he is Liver & White, how about Rua, Rogan, Donnan, Duncan or Rory. They all have brown/red meanings.

We definately need pictures!! :D

I'm liking frenzy and dizzy, he'll probably live up to them! Family ideas so far are Tim, Ted and Harry, quite unoriginal, but the other 2 boys are called Max and Sam so thinking of something to go with them?

CC they would be such cool names for 3 dogs. My mum suggested Ralf but that's our vets name, can imagine his face if he drives in and I start shouting, "Ralf, Ralf, Get into bed .... NOW!!"
KH, I thought it was a well known fact that those names are what every spangle is called when they get past the cute puppy stage?!

Oh I know a Ralphie and it really suits him! Our vet has a cool name too :) but I think that would be a bridge too far :p

LOL! We had a guinea-pig that ended up being re-named "The Ginge"... Guess what colour hair the new vet at our practice had! :p

You might as well call him 'I'm sorry' because as a springer owner that is now your catchphrase that and 'I'm soooooo sorry he never usually does that!'.
TBH I wouldn't bother naming him.....it's not like they listen anyway! Milly now thinks her name is 'Oh My Cod what has that stupid dog done now'.
