New stables, talk grilles?

Yep, grumpy baggage is quite happy in her huge foaling box and has been looking out her window, but she would have worried her neighbours if she had a talk grille as she's a stroppy madam! Will be interesting if she ever goes in one of the other stables ever to see how she is with them!

It's alright Elle My OH is an electrician which is handy (when I get him to do it... always at the bottom of the list lol) Where abouts are you?

I went for 4 foot grilles in the end and the ponies LOVE them. Lots of happy sniffing thro the bars and when I sneak a look out two of them in particular always seem to be angled in their stables so they can see each other thro the bars.

As yet I have only fed them hay in the stables and I expect a small strop when they start getting fed in there but all in all am very pleased I went for them.

I also had windows in the back opposite corner from the doors and have also spotted the ponies looking out of their windows at next doors posh ponies :biggrin3:

So lovely and light and clean. Almost seems a shame to put a pony in them.
 
One of mine would love this setup, the other would hate it. When we go to camp at Stockland Lovell their stables are separated by bars on top and he has to go on the end and in the biggest stable so he can stand as far away as possible and pull faces at the horse next door - even though the horse next door is his field mate! Said field mate is extra clingy away from home and spends the whole 3 days pinned against the bars to be as close to him as possible (he won't eat unless hay net is tied to the bars on the side next to mine!). Mine hates him being so close so you can imagine his reaction when his field mate untied himself and came into the stable (they were both tied up in their stables with the doors open while we mucked out.)
 
We have these in our stables, the horses can see and touch each other and all get on well. The stallion and his best mate (gelding next door) like to lick each others' tongues through the bars.
 
Annagain bless, poor clingy horse! Luckily have put baby horses next to a mummy (not their own mummies as they don't seem to like their own anymore?!) And it's working out quite well for clingyness :)

Numps I'll get the gin in :biggrin3: my ponies only drink malt whiskey :wink3:

Don't bless him he's a b****y nightmare! My friend and I can't go anywhere together as if he sees my horse he won't work! We have to ask for dressage times as far apart as possible or if it's outdoors right next to each other so we can warm up together and he can see mine at all times during his test.

Our riding club team qualified for the championships at Hartpury and we had to travel there separately, park in different car parks and lurk round corners to make sure we didn't meet. We managed it until we competed but she had to come back past my trailer out of the ring just as I was untacking. I ended up bringing them both home while she came back in an empty lorry! They fought, or rather mine beat hers up, all the way home :rolleyes:
