sooooooooooooo, Finally action is happening! The guy is coming out this week to see drawings , ideas etc for stables.

We are having 2 stables built with tackroom/feedroom with hay/storage area and hopefully wash box.

so just wondering, for the layout, what is best?
1. Stable, stable, tackroom/feedroom, storage
2. stable feedroom/tackroom, stable, storage
3. Stable, little alleyway area, stable, feedroom/tackroom

the stables will be on a straight.

back windows and grills in between. Makes stables so much lighter and airier for ponies.

you can never have too much drainage.

And be prepared for access. We have so many lorries into our yard at home for deliveries. Makes life so much easier if you have easy access!

umm well the alley idea was just if i had the stables together but i do think stable,stable,tackroom/feedroom, store would be fine, bars in between both stables. maybe bars at end stable to feedroom/tackroom?

we are not usibg a company but a guy we know who is excellent and owns horse but builds houses so understands the needs of horse and perfection of making houses!

although we are taking ideas from company ideas,

coping the 4th block at the top

we are having quite a big over hang with pillars, rug rack and two bridle hooks outside both stables, rubber matting, window at the back, matting, on concrete outside (cheaper mats as outside) the doors, we think we will buy them from company ready made with chew strips etc. buckets, dont really want or need auto drinkers, although got some toys to put on wall for them. not sure about bars though, do you think a barred window idea or the hwole of the top dividers are bars?

Sounds similar... after contacting more then a million companys.... I would like a corner block of two 10x12 either side of a corner box of 12x16 and a large tackroom/feedroom/store with back to padocks but back windows, grills inbetween and all the chew stripes, matting etc.. oh and decent lighting... next job manage oh yearh and planning mission!
