new stirrups, never seen these before!

Interesting idea, can see the logic about giving more stability to the lower leg and improving rider's balance, but I wouldn't fancy having my foot locked into a stirrup to that extent, plus very expensive..

They've been around for a few years. Try doing a search.

People who haven't used them reckon they're a bad idea.

People who have used them reckon they're great.

I haven't got £170, so I don't know either way.

Interesting. Call me old school, but it would take the fun out of it for me - rather like cheating. It can be done with real stirrups, so I should learn to do it properly, the old fashioned way :D

appreciating this quote though:

Note: portable jumps should be pegged into the ground for safety

I was told they might help me with my false leg,to help keep in place but at that price can not afford to try in case they do not work, not sure if my leg might get stuck in them. They are based on how a human balances, they should help with your balance and stability and to help you matain the correct lower leg position, and to stop the tension of your ankles and knees, so all in all to help improve your whole body position balance and therefore improve safety. Well thats what they told me when I contacted the company, still alot of money.

Oh thank you :) I am still around having my ups and downs, poor Ebony had a nasty injury to her leg and has been on box rest for the past 4 weeks poor thing, so all our hard work has come to a halt which is such a shame really were starting to get some where with the lessons and my confidence is so much better and now its all stopped and I am desperate to ride but can not, apart from that all well, hope you are keeping well :)

The main point of having your heel down is to use your leg correctly, not sure how you'd manage that in them.
I don't necessarily view stirrups as a major factor in balance anyway, that's what your basic position is for.

I bought a pair of these last week!

Only had my first ride in them today just a quick 20 min road hack but they certainly made me sit better. I'm a sod for wedging my heels down and gripping with my knees which these stopped. I also felt in the event of a bucking session I could push down with my heels to brace myself and absorb it.

My horse is pretty responsive to the leg and leg yield was no problem in them

Going to have a longer hack with trot / canter and try schooling in them over the next few days before I made a decision on what I think about them :)

These look interesting. I get terrible back pain when riding so wouldn't mind giving these a go to try and support a better position. Something to save up for... Although they look abit bulky, can't imagine I could wear them in the show ring, especially if the ride judge has big feet! That would be abit awkward.

Interesting!

Not too sure I like the look of them, if nothing but from an aesthetic point of view!
I recently bought the endurance cages for my stirrups which helps support my feet a ton (I have peripheral nerve damage and they get sore/tired quickly and tend to slip through stirrup).
