My son has a hankering for one of these jackets instead of his normal show jacket. Personally I think they look a tad informal but I can understand that they might be more practical in some ways.

John Whitaker Int are the only company to make and supply them and, before his birthday comes up and I order one, I wondered if anyone had worn one - do they last, are they comfortable, what colour looks best etc etc?

I haven't seen many of them around. If your son isn't in the top 250 he can only choose from certain colours so you would need to chieck what is available to you - I think there is about 6. I'm not sure if pony riders are allowed them either, I would check that as well if he is still in ponies.

Yeah, not sure about juniors wearing them. The colours are boring - dark green, navy blue, black is all I think.

I was all for this idea and was going to buy one once they were on the market however have you seen the price of them?! A rip-off! Especially when they're made by JW (who in my opinion make cruddy stuff).

I haven't seen anybody wearing them. I love the idea but they'll never take off unless they seriously lower the price! Think they were about £200 when I last looked
