After all your help with my best poopa scoopa thread I thought you'd all like to help me spend some money lol

My stables will be finished at the end of the month and my tack room is then phase 2!

They are original stone cart sheds, that have had traditional bow fronts put on for the horses.

My tack room is stone with a beautiful brick floor.

I want to make it as aesthetically pleasing and as functional as possible :-) and I love matchy and a traditional aesthetic, so please share your ideas of what I 'need'!!!!

Thanks

Top class security system is the priority if you want to keep your tack/equipment safe.

Alarms, locks, cameras, insurance are all expensive.

Put funds into that first before buying stuff to furnish that tack room....

That's all covered thanks as it's part of the existing farm network but it is a very good point

Sounds beautiful.

Although your brick floor sounds gorgeous to look at, but I'd imagine it would be very cold in the winter to stand on in your welly boots. So I'm going to say a mat or rug to put down in front of anything you will be stood in front of for any length of time (feed bins and tack cleaning area's).

These would be luxuries but heating - will help keep everything in perfect condition and a sink with running water.
Absolutely this. When i was doing some horses for someone last winter i was amazed at the sticky horrible feeling on their tack, especially as it was well looked after. It was purely down to it being a non heated tack room.

If you can line it eg with chipboard that really helps to stop damp
Mine is lined but not heated, I have a dehumidifier in there and no problems with mould
I second the suggestion of a sink with running water. I don't have one and really wish I did!

Definitely some heating and running water. Depending on size, old style saddle and bridle racks, Stubbs do retro style ones

Storage wise dresser style cupboards would be nice.

Your yard sounds incredible. For a traditional tack room I really like a big wooden saddle horse and another luxury but a horse washing machine helps keep on top of the washing without having to wreck your own.

Depending on the layout of your tackroom, I previously had a wall covered in rosettes and sashes and it gave it a good splash of colour as well as being a nice way of displaying the rosettes.

I have a plug in heated bar its not very big and is attached to the wall and I never turn it off, I think they are designed for garages? Its brilliant, I put damp things under it to dry and it keeps the stickiness and mould away from the leather, my tack room is also well insulated that helps, but this heated bar is brilliant.

Its just a heated cylinder that attaches to the wall with brackets, very cheap and easy.
