I everyone I will be making the switch from eventing to show jumping this season for various reasons. Mainly safety after a few close calls. I will also be buying a new horse to do bs however I still love dressage so prefarbly a nice mover as well so we can do some BD.
I am trying to undertsand BS and i find it so confusing. I have show jumped up to 1.20 unaff so am wondering what height i should start with. Im assuming this will depend on the amount of points my new horse will have?
I was also wondering about internationals and how they work. Do they start at 1* and what height is that? and what is the eligibility?
Im also wondering what championships/leagues I should be aiming for.
Sorry im absoultley clueless!! Thank you

I found this earlier which was quite helpful- there is lots of info on the BS website. There are loads of things you can qualify for which is appealing to me atm!

How long is a piece of string - far too many variables.
I would just wait and see what horse you pick up as will impact what you can do.
Bronze league you cannot jump over 1.15m. 1* starts at 1.15m. I don’t think there is any eligibility for sjing international apart from FEI registration.
BS has tonnes of champs so again it will depend on what you are jumping. Take 90cm - there is amateurs at 85 and 95, British novice 2nd rounds, and Bluechips.

Thank you so much guys all super helpful!! sorry this is probably a daft question but what does it mean when it says first rounds and second rounds?

Can I suggest you find a local to you BS Coach and they will advise you on what level horse you should buy and what classes you would be eligible for. There are loads and loads of ideas but without knowing you/your horse/your capabiiltities/your ambitions it would be a brave person to advise you on a public forum!! Good luck and I hope you enjoy BS
