Hi

I have just realised that I ma yet to introdce myself, which having posted a few times on here I think is a bit rude, so I apolagise for not saying Hi first!!

Im Lexie, from Reigate in surrey. Im 29, and a dressage enthusiast, (trained with Stephen Clarke for a year), although I used to dabble in very minor league eventing!

I dont have a horse at the mo, as my beautiful Irish TB, Zak or Pies as he was commonly known, was put to sleep a few years back, having recovered from a torn tendon, he went and got a tendon sheath infection which wasnt diagnosed in time, but he had a good innings at 21!

This is a great forum, with some fab advise from what I have read so far, will try and get some old pics of me and pies scanned in so you can see him, I know how forums love a piccy!

Just thought i'd say HI................

We do love piccies!;D

Yeah it was sad, kicked myself about it for a long time as he was out on loan for 6 months when he tore a tendon, but hey, as soon as I found out had him home and got him sound for a good year, although not ridden he was happy plodding round his field for his last year, the way it should be!

Welcome to the forum Lexie.

Really sorry to hear about Zak. My horse had a tendon sheath infection in her left knee and infect had her surgery a year ago today! It was a horrendous time and she was in terrible pain. Touch and go for a while, but I was one of the lucky ones. Her recovery is still ongoing though as she developed complications post surgery. Sympathies for Zak. I got Patches to the vet just in the nick of time. I was told had I left it even a few hours later she'd likely be a goner. Don't beat yourself up over it. I had no idea just how grave Patches was at the time either.

Wish you all the luck in the world finding a new equine partner.
