I know this seems to have been done to death over all the forums due to the BD rule change but I'm genuinely infers tested in changing my competition hat.
I currently compete in a champion CPX 3000 junior which I bought as a 'I need a hat quick' and as it was the only one in the shop that fit and was only £50 it was a done deal!
Although it is a very nice hat and I wear a safety hat with pride I feel the look of it on my head is spoiling the overall elegance of my outfit.
Yesterday I went to have a look at the so called slimmer hats. I found the gatehouse hickstead which the lady said fit but I probably needed a size bigger than my normal 58cm head. But I worry that it would be too big (my HS1 was slightly tight but has eased over time)
I also found the Charles Owen Fiona's hat which would need a small amount of padding at the back but which other wise fit too.
The thing is when trying the hats on I looked in he mirror and don't feel I looked any different Thant the hat I already had?! I've come away to think about what I want to do. I don't really want to spent alot of money on a new hat when the only difference I can see is the colour of the strap.
Obviously the colour of the strap will make a big difference as I won't have a load of navy blue nylon web covering my face. Perhaps I take my current hat to compare?!
Just wondering if anyone can recommend the different makes of slimmer hats as there may be some out there that I'm not aware of?! I need hats with a deep rounded crown as I have an oval face.

I have the caldene prestige hat with flesh colored straps, its a nice fitting hat without lots of padding!

I also love the hickstead hats or the charles owen ones :)
