Hi, I am currently developing a new TV series all about the world of pony showing. Although I know that attempts have been made to make one off programmes about showing, I don't think any have successfully portrayed the real people in the industry and the hard work and determination that fuels it. As a rider myself, I want to make a series that casts off the preconceptions that people might have about showing and demonstrate that it is an equine discipline enjoyed by a huge range of very dedicated people. So far I have met with a lot of enthusiasm for the project from people involved in showing which is great!
In order to make the series entertaining to watch, I am hoping to show the industry from a few different perspectives; from the families with one pony at livery making a lot of sacrifices in order to compete, to the large professional yards run by producers. To enable me to show a broad range of people involved in the showing world I am keen to hear from anyone who is passionate about showing and would be willing to talk to me about their experiences. In particular I would love to find people who are new to showing (and indeed to horses in general) but have a lot of enthusiasm for competing, and are learning the ropes. I am equally interested to speak to people that are willing to invest lots of money into their competitive campaign, and those who are doing it all on shoestring.
