Have noticed a small sarcoid like growth on my boy's chest that seems to be getting bigger, is there any cream or supplement I could use immediately to stop it growing any more?

Hey

There is a cream and only 1 man in the country has it and this has to be applied for by your vet.

The man who has made it and has no told anyone the ingrediants is from Liverpool Uni and the cream is licenced where by only your vet can adminster it.

Contact your vet and they will need to take photos and send them off to the Uni for the DR to look at and if they thing you need it or it may work they will contact your vet and send it down however I do believe their is a waiting list.

Good luck, if its a large one and not flat to the skin the vet can remove it with fishing wire type stuff.

the only thing predictable about Sarcoids is that they are un-predictable

There are lots and lots of different remedies for sarcoids. My mare has the start of a few small ones, so I looked into all the treatments. She is also pregnant with a foal at foot, so did not want to use the liverpool cream as it may get on the foal or affect her unborn foal.

Lots of people on here have had good results with the global herb feed supplement, sarc-ex.

I have been trying a product called Propolis (made by bees!) You get it from the health food shop and just dab it on. I have been using it for about a month twice a day and all 10 or so of her sarcoids are going. One has dropped off and the biggest one is going to fall off very soon by the looks of it.

Not every home made treatment works for every horse, but if the sarcoid is very small, I would be tempted to try some of them before the Liverpool cream, although I do understand the argument for treating them early with it too.

This sounds great, I will definitely try this! Danny has a sarcoid in between his back legs really far up, and it has been getting quite big but doesn't seem to affect him. His previous owner said that he has had them for a very long time and has had them frozen off with (I think) Liquid Nitrogen, but they keep growing back.

I use the propolis liquid made by "bee health" plenty on Ebay!
I must stress that my mare's sarcoids are very small, the biggest was 3x pea sized. The rest are flat, just starting sarcoids.
I have no idea if it will help a bigger more established one, but may well be worth a try. Do stop use immediately if you think the sarcoid is getting bigger though!
