new wormer

i got a new wormer today called verm x its more of a herby thing that you mix in to there feeds only problem is now that roxy doesnt like it so how can i get it in to her? i was thinking put the powder in the middle of a apple but she takes tiny chuncks all the time so that would be no good any ideas??? and has anyone else used this wormer as it is meant to be really gentle on the gut over a period of 5 days but is also meant to be a great conditioner for the horse

How about mixing it with something sweet like honey and putting it in her feed?

IMHO i would bin it and use a proper wormer!

If I'm trying to give powders then mixing it with custard or molasses and syringing it in usually works

I was wondering why not a 'proper' wormer but.....

try mixing it with yoghurt (plain!) putting it in an old syringe and squirting it in like a normal wormer, I used that method very successfully with a horse that hated bute and had to have a course of it, messy but effective!

As a YO, a lot of my liveries one year wanted to try these new wormers, so - we changed the worming plan to fit in with these Verm X. (still used some real wormers fitted in as not all liveries/myself wanted to rely on just the herbs!) the horses all loved the herbal wormers, and some are normally really fussy - is it definatley in date ??
all i can say is try mixing it with molasses etc? us using the verm x didnt last long and if i remember correctly only used it twice.
