New yard but need more grazing

Right outside there is a byway about a 5/10 minute walk is a village with grazing but I dont know anyone in the village, if I wrote notes and put it on the gates asking if they would be willing to hire out grazing - would that be the best way to go about this???

Is there a pub or a shop in the village? Could try asking there they will probably know most people in the village. Failing that could try notes or I think you can find out who owns what from the land registry.

Door knocking is always the best way. That's how I found grazing in the past.
