New Yard & first day turnout

Just after a bit of advice.

We’re moving yards this weekend to DIY and my plan is to turn out overnight, in during the day.

we will be arriving at new yard after lunch on Saturday, so shall I turn out that evening at about 5pm as that will be our new routine time or shall I keep him in until the Sunday evening and turn out then?

I would turn out and let them expel any energy

Turn out and leave out to establish your new routine….check field fences etc first though !

Is this group or individual turnout?

Either way, I like to be around when a horse is first turned out in a new place.

I would definitely like to be around to check horse is settled over a period of time so I would either turn out as soon as you arrive or wait until the following dayif you can be around then to check especially if it's herd turn out.

So I can be there when turned out, I planned to sit in the field or gate for an hour or so and keep an eye out, so turn out first night it is then

I agree, id just try and start as I mean to go on. Especially at this time of year where they have plenty of daylight still to explore boundaries
